Season: The best time to visit this area is during the dry season, which runs from December to April. During this time, the weather is warmer and sunnier, and there is less rain. If the objective is to go whale watching, it is ideal to travel between July and mid-October. The months of July and August, as well as the end and beginning of the year season (December 20 to January 15), Easter and all the festive long weekends of the year, there is a large influx of visitors and tourists in the area, if you want to avoid tourism massively it is suggested to travel on other dates.
Accommodation: The ecohotel is located near the sea, in the Guachalito beach area, 40 minutes by boat from Nuquí. The accommodation is distributed in 4 independent cabins built of wood and surrounded by a large garden featuring palm trees, heliconias and fruit trees. In total there are 7 rooms with capacity for between 2 and 6 people in accommodations with double beds and single beds with mosquito nets, and with a private bathroom. The eco-hotel has a restaurant area with capacity for 30 guests. There is electricity service all day. There is no Wifi. The rooms do not have a TV, fans or air conditioning.
Food: The menu of dishes in this area of the country is mainly based on sea fish or chicken, accompanied by rice, some soups and plantains. The drink that accompanies lunch and dinner is usually lemonade, fruit juice or water. In the hotel bar they sell beer, cocktails and other drinks at an additional cost to the package. Vegetarian and vegan menus can be handled with local products.
Transportation: The tours are carried out in shared boats with a roof, life jackets and cushions on the chairs, and they are always accompanied by a captain and sailor. The boat transfers are organized based on the arrival and departure times of the flights, there is no fixed schedule but it is guaranteed that they will arrive at the airport on time. It is recommended to be located in the rear and central part of the boat, to avoid strong impacts of the boat with the waves and to avoid getting wet. You should not put your hands out to touch the waves or put your hands on the edges of the boat to avoid accidents.
Whale watching and other species of fauna: Keep in mind that during whale watching, you may feel nausea or dizziness, it is recommended to take medication to help control these symptoms. You can also use a raincoat for you and your luggage as the waves can get you wet. The Pacific is one of the mating, breeding and feeding sites of the humpback whale, for this reason the pursuit of individuals from boats is prohibited; They can only be observed in chance encounters, during which visitors must follow the recommendations according to the regulations. Any observation of the animal is considered a successful sighting: tail, back, fins or jumps. Bird watching requires minimal disturbance, which is why the use of binoculars is required to admire their behavior and beauty. Under no circumstances should birds be frightened with noises so that they take flight. Do not provide food or leave waste along the way so as not to alter the species' diet. In order not to disturb the tranquility of animal species, the use of flash must be turned off in a timely manner.
Activities: The main activities in the destination are the Beach Walk to visit the Cascada del Amor which lasts 30 minutes each way and the Beach Walk to the hot springs which lasts 1.30 hours each way, has a medium-high physical demand, this does not include entry to the hot springs, it has an approximate cost of $15,000 COP. Other activities are organized upon request or during the guest's stay at the hotel: boat visit to the Utría National Natural Park, sunset visit to Cabo Corrientes, day trip to Joví and river walk, visit to Coquí and walk through the mangroves, walk in the jungle to spot frogs. Near the hotel there is a surf school and a diving center, activities that the guest manages during their stay.
Sustainability: The Colombian Pacific is a fragile and vulnerable territory. It is important to be a responsible traveler and contribute to its conservation. Avoid generating or throwing garbage, take it back home. Make responsible use of natural resources (drinking water, electricity), which are scarce in the area. Respect wildlife and ecosystems. Purchasing crafts is a way to support local communities. Respect the culture and traditions of the community. Avoid taking photographs of people without their permission.

Other travel tips: This entire area is located in the tropics and has endemic diseases such as malaria and yellow fever. It is recommended to be vaccinated even though no authority will request a vaccination card. Carry electronic devices in waterproof protectors, rain may occur during the tours.
Traveling with children: Children from 0 to 2 years old (infants) pay a differential rate, the other services are shared with their parents, otherwise there is an additional cost at the hotel. Although it is allowed to take infants, it is not really a recommended trip for minors of these ages, given the activities and maritime travel times. From 3 to 11 years old, children pay a different rate to that of adults. From 12 years old onwards, all services are at an adult rate. These differential rates are shown at the time of booking.
Traveling with pets: Pets are not accepted in the hotel for coexistence and respect with other guests, as well as for not having facilities adapted to the requirements for them.
