The following itinerary is suggested by the tour operator, there may be changes depending on weather or logistical conditions during the trip:

Day 1 - City tour in San Juan de Pasto:

The host will pick you up at the hotel in Pasto, to begin a tour of the temples of the historic center of the city, an opportunity to appreciate its republican architecture and objects dating back to the colonial era and visit the Cathedral of Pasto and the temples of San Juan, Cristo Rey and La Merced. You will also visit the Plaza de Nariño , the Carnival Museum and the varnish workshops (an artisanal technique that is a cultural heritage of Colombia), as well as explore the gastronomic heritage of Nariño, tasting a traditional paila ice cream , a Nariño coffee prepared by an expert and at the end a delicious typical snack. Return to the hotel to rest.

Day 2 - Ipiales and Las Lajas:

After breakfast, your host will pick you up at your hotel and head to Ipiales . It will take approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival in Ipiales, you will head towards the town of Las Lajas, the gateway to the majestic Sanctuary. You will descend along the trails towards the Guaitara canyon where the building stands. Upon reaching the temple, you can have a spiritual and religious encounter or simply admire the imposing architecture of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Las Lajas , visit the museum and tour the place in the company of the local guide. At the end of the tour, you will ascend by cable car to the town of Las Lajas while you observe the Canyon again. You will continue the tour towards Ecuador, crossing the border to visit the old customs houses and, later, the Tulcán cemetery** , famous for its gardens of figures in its trees. You will tour this Ecuadorian town and at the end of the afternoon you will return to Pasto to rest at your hotel.

**Due to pandemic issues, the visit to the Tulcán cemetery may be changed to other tourist sites, everything is subject to permits at the destination.

Day 3 - La Cocha Lagoon:

After breakfast, your host will pick you up at the hotel and head to Laguna de la Cocha , the second largest lake in Colombia and a symbol of history, magic, energy and natural beauty. It will take approximately 40 minutes. Upon arrival, you will visit the El Puerto area, where you can see the picturesque wooden houses with a Swiss influence , chalet style, adorned with gardens and balconies; it is an ideal place for a good photograph. You will continue the trip until you reach a farm house and take a tour of a self-sustaining civil society nature reserve, where you will visit water sources, organic crops, the home garden, guinea pig and other farm animal farms. At the end of the tour, you will be offered a typical snack from the area prepared by the family with products from the same reserve. Lunch. Afternoon for a boat ride across the lagoon to reach the smallest protected area in Colombia: the Flora and Fauna Sanctuary of La Corota Island . You will walk along its beautiful path and learn about its ecosystems and the ancestral stories that are part of the landscape. Rest in a hotel near the lagoon.

Day 4 - Return to Pasto:

Breakfast. Free morning to enjoy the hotel facilities and the tranquility of the area. Return to Pasto. End of services.
