Season: The best time to visit Fuerte Island is during the dry season, from December to April, when the weather is cooler and drier. Although you can travel during the rainy season, from May to November, rainfall can affect your plans and limit outdoor activities.
Accommodation: The hostel is located in Isla Fuerte, in front of the beach. It has different types of rooms: single, double for couples, double for friends, triple or family. Private or shared bathroom depending on the type of room. In the common areas there is a restaurant, garden, terrace and bar.
Food: The menu in this area of the country is generally seafood, accompanied by rice and green plantain. The drink that accompanies lunch and dinner is usually a soft drink or water. Restaurants usually sell beer and other drinks at an additional cost to the package. Vegetarian and vegan menus are scarce but can be organized depending on the availability of ingredients (generally many grains). These types of menus must be requested when confirming the reservation. Keep in mind that the menus are suggested for the day. If you wish to change the menu for one from the menu, you will have to assume the additional cost at your destination.
Transport: Tours are carried out in shared boats, with life jackets and cushions on the chairs, and always accompanied by a captain. It is recommended to sit in the back and centre of the boat, to avoid strong impacts of the boat with the waves and to avoid getting wet. You should not take your hands out to touch the waves or put your hands on the edges of the boat to avoid accidents.
Activities: Different activities can be carried out at the destination for an additional cost, such as: night snorkeling, bird watching, cultural walk, subwing, wakeboarding, underwater museum, massages, among others.
- Diving: It is important that you take into account the following information for your dive.
  - You must have a PADI certificate to do this activity.
  - Never dive if you have a cold or a stuffy nose or ears.
  - Check your diving equipment to make sure it is working. Use appropriate equipment that can handle your intended dive.
  - Do not drink alcohol or take drugs before diving.
  - Never hold your breath during ascent. Your ascent should be slow and your breathing should be normal.
  - Do not fly for 12 hours after a no-decompression dive, even in a pressurized aircraft. If the dive requires decompression stops, do not fly for at least 24 hours.
Sustainability: The host manages turtle conservation, mangrove planting, and coral planting. Remember that the Caribbean is a fragile and vulnerable territory. It is important to be a responsible traveler and contribute to its conservation. Avoid generating or throwing garbage, take it back home. Make responsible use of natural resources (water, electricity), which are scarce in the area. Respect wildlife and ecosystems. Buying crafts is a way to support local communities. Respect the culture and traditions of the community. The hostel does NOT use single-use plastics. Options to save water are offered, including the possibility of reusing towels.
Additional pick-ups or transfers during the tour: The host will pick you up at Los Garzones Airport in Montería and from there you will leave by ground transportation to Paso Nuevo,
- Paso Nuevo departure time: From 9:00 am to 3:00 pm approx.
- Return time: From 6:00 am to 2:00 pm approx.
- This depends on sea conditions. It is important for you to know that the only way to get to the hotel is by SEA, departing exclusively from Paso Nuevo. Please note that if the sea is rough, there may be delays in transfers.
Traveling with children: Children between 0 and 4 years old do not pay for accommodation but share a bed, meals and activities with their parents. Children 5 years old and older pay the adult rate.
