Season: The best season to travel to the Amazon in Colombia depends on your preferences and what you want to experience. The climate in the Amazon region is generally hot and humid throughout the year, but there are two main seasons: the rainy season from December to June and the dry season from July to November. During the rainy season, the weather conditions are more favorable, which makes it easier to carry out outdoor activities such as transfers to nearby indigenous communities, facilitating the sighting of natural species.

Accommodation: This accommodation is located in front of the Mocagua dock, so it has an enviable view of the Amazon River. It has rooms with shared and private bathrooms. The electricity supply is between 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm. The accommodation stands out for offering the best typical local cuisine. Accommodation depends on the number of travelers. If 2 people travel, a double or twin room is usually assigned; for 3 people it will be a triple (double bed and a single bed); if more than 3 people travel, the rooms are distributed in cabins or private cabins for 5 people. The rooms do not have hot water, TV, fan or air conditioning. There is Wi-Fi service in common areas.

Food: Food in the Amazon is influenced by the abundant natural ingredients of the region, such as fresh river fish, exotic fruits, among others. Typical dishes include fish casserole, corn tamales, and patacones with whey. Local ingredients such as tucupí, a yellow manioc sauce, add a distinctive touch to the cuisine. The diversity of flavors and textures reflects the cultural and natural richness of the Amazon region. This diet is a fusion of tradition, culture, and nature, highlighting the importance of local ingredients and traditional preparation techniques. Additionally, vegetarian and vegan options adapted to local food are available for an additional cost of approximately $24,000 COP per person, it is important that you mention this when booking. It is important to keep in mind that lunch on the first day is included in the accommodation and applies to travelers who arrive no later than 1:00 pm, otherwise it will not be included.

Transportation: In Amazonas, given its predominantly Amazonian jungle geography and extensive river network, the main means of transportation for tours is by river. Vessels such as speedboats are used to travel along the rivers and tributaries that connect the different communities and sites of interest in the region.

    - 7:00 am, 9:00 am, 12:00 m. and 2:00 p.m.
  - Mocagua - Leticia boat schedules:
    - 7:00 am, 10:00 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm

Activities: The main activities in Amazonas include exploring the Amazon rainforest through hiking, canoeing on the rivers, exotic bird watching, sport fishing, among others. Our host has activities that you can do for an additional cost such as: canoeing, hiking to different communities, pottery workshop, talk about medicinal plants, indigenous chagra, among others.

Sustainability: Amazonas is home to diverse indigenous communities with unique cultures and traditions. Respect their way of life, beliefs, and territory. Always ask permission before taking photos and be aware that some areas may be sacred or restricted access. Prioritize the purchase of products and services offered by local communities, such as crafts, food, and accommodation, which directly contributes to the economic well-being of the people living in the region. Consume consciously and avoid wasting water and energy. Opt for reusable products instead of disposable ones and carry a refillable water bottle and a reusable bag to minimize waste generation. Other travel tips: It is advisable to opt for a carry-on suitcase rather than a wheeled one, as it takes up less space and is more comfortable during tours. For health safety reasons, it is necessary to have the yellow fever vaccination and to carry the vaccination card in case it is requested, as some airlines require it. If you take specific medications, make sure to take them with you, and it never hurts to carry a personal first aid kit. It is also advisable to carry an additional bag in case of rain to protect your luggage. Mobile signal can be patchy or even non-existent in some areas due to the remote location and mountainous geography, which can affect the availability of mobile coverage.
Traveling with children: Traveling to the Amazon is not recommended for children under 3 years old due to the attractions visited and the activities carried out, since there are walks in the middle of the jungle that can be exhausting for them.

Traveling with pets: Traveling to the Amazon with pets can be complicated and potentially dangerous for both your pet and the local ecosystem. There are risks of disease, encounters with wild animals, and disruption of the natural environment. It is important to consider safer and more environmentally friendly alternatives for both your pet and the environment. The accommodation does NOT accept pets during your stay.
